I AM ST. MONICA Results
The results of our I AM ST. MONICA program are in!
Thank you to all St. Monica parishioners who responded to our "I Am Saint Monica" effort earlier this year. The goals of the program are to obtain updated contact information and input from our parish family, to learn from you how we can enhance and energize our parish, and begin to put your ideas and suggestions into action for you.
"From You, For You"
- 21% of parish families responded
- Over 50% of those who responded did so by using the parish website
- 12% of respondents are involved in parish ministries

Two of the most visible areas where we are immediately focusing our efforts "For You" are Community Outreach and Music. In the area of Community Outreach, you indicated a strong desire to reach out to the less fortunate in our community. As of August 11, we have a new ministry at St. Monica that prepares and serves dinner at least once a month at the Austin Street Center for the homeless in downtown Dallas. We heard your appreciation of the direction the Music Ministry has taken and your desire to continue that progress. In June, we hired Emmanuel Espiritu as Assistant Music Director to assist with the music at Mass as well as with music education in the school.
These are just two examples of how we are striving to take the suggestions "from you" and put them to work "for you". We are working to put more of your ideas into action so stay tuned and keep those ideas and suggestions coming.
We will keep the "I Am St. Monica" web page available online so that we can continue learning from you throughout the year. This program was not a one-time event; we want to hear from you often and we intend to officially encourage our parish at least once a year to provide new or updated information about you, your family, your ideas and your suggestions.
