The Diocese of Dallas requires that anyone who is Safe Environment certified must take training each year. Your first class must be a Foundation class. Before June 2018 this class was called “Family of Faith." "Family of Faith" has been replaced by “Recognizing, Responding, & Reporting Abuse”.

After completing Foundation training you will need to attend a renewal class each year. A new topic is offered each year.

St. Monica does not accept training from other parishes or online training. You must attend live training on-site at St. Monica. Our Safe Environment team will be offering over 60 classes this year to help you meet that requirement.

To help your training experience go smoothly we have a few tips:

  • Classes are always in the Family Life Center - faces the parking lot on Midway
  • Arrive early as parking will be difficult
  • You will take a photo for your badge – this will be done before or after class - only for those who did not have a badge for the 2018-19 School year
  • No one under 18 is allowed to attend the class
  • No babysitting
  • You must stay for the whole class to receive credit
  • If you are more than 5 minutes late you will receive no credit for the class
  • Register – this helps us give you credit for your class faster – click here

Classes consist of a 30-minute video followed by a live presentation.
