First Confession and First Holy Communion

First Confession

Children are prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confession for the first time when they are in their second year of sacramental preparation and are at least seven years of age. Children will be prepared to receive the Sacrament of First Confession a few months before they receive First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion

"Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life". John 6:54

First Holy Communion is celebrated when children are at least seven years of age and are in the second grade. According to diocesan policy, children must attend religious education for two consecutive academic years before celebrating this Sacrament. If parents would like for their children to make their First Holy Communion in the second grade, students must be enrolled in Faith Formation classes in the first grade.
