Confirmation Service Events
Confirmation candidates are expected to complete 20 service hours between June 2011 and March 2012. It is recommended that Confirmation candidates perform at least 2 service hours a month during their Confirmation year.
The parish offers a wide range of service opportunities from volunteering at a local crisis pregnancy center, to sorting donations at St. Vincent De Paul, to organizing social events for seniors and needy children.

Teen Music Ministry
Teen Music Ministry leads the music for our Sunday Teen Mass with an upbeat and contemporary music selection at the 5 p.m. Mass on Sundays. The Teen Music Ministry is for students in grades 6th– 12th grade who are interested in sharing their God given talents of singing or playing a musical instrument.

Lector or Usher
Lectors proclaim the Word of God to parishioners during the Sunday Youth Mass at 5:00PM To sign up for this Sunday click the link below.
Ushers welcome parishioners as they gather and handout song sheets for the Sunday Youth Mass at 5 p.m. and assist them in finding a seat. Ushers also gather the offerings for the church as well as thank them for their attendance as they leave.

Parenting Conference
The Office of Faith Formation will host an event with an opportunity to earn service hours and have fun! We will need many volunteers to help us prepare for this community event!

Austin Street Centre
On a designated evening each month, St. Monica parishioners will provide dinner to the less fortunate "clients" of Austin Street Homeless Centre, located near downtown Dallas. The food will be collected and delivered to the Austin Street Centre for a designated date. A limited number of teen volunteers are welcome to go to the centre and serve the homeless with cleared safe environment chaperons. For more information click here.

Missionaries of Charity
Students are invited to learn more about the Missionaries of Charity by volunteering at their convent in Oak Cliff. Volunteers will be helping the sisters with yard work, cleaning, and simple maintenance chores at their residence.

St. Vincent de Paul Society
A Call to Serve – Help Us Help Others! This service opportunity allows the youth to make a difference at the St. Vincent de Paul Thirst Store by working with their staff in the warehouse and retail store. St. Vincent de Paul is located on 3052 West NW Highway, Dallas, Texas 75220. Click here for details about the next event.

St. Monica Social Club
The Social Club is an organization for parishioners 50 and over. The first Monday of every month a themed potluck dinner is held for the Social Club members. Teens and parents plan games, activities, decorate, setup and serve adults in our parish community. Click here to register for this event.

Autumnfest
Autumnfest is St. Monica’s annual community carnival complete with cake walks, a candy wheel, bingo, talent show and plenty more. We are seeking teen volunteers to coordinate a hair booth which includes hair spray, feathers, tattoos and more.

World Youth Day 2011
Join us in celebrating our Young people with our bishops at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas. We celebrate Mass with thousands of fellow Catholics from across the state of Texas! Teens and adults from the St. Monica community are called to leadership roles as our parish brings the Liturgy Alive with the gifts and talents of our youth for the Mass at this event. Please consider being a participant as a musician, vocalist, instrumentalist, lector, usher, animator or adult chaperone.

Yam Jam
Help Make A Difference! Join volunteers from St. Monica Church and School to glean (pick up) sweet potatoes left in the fields after harvest, and donate them to various North Texas agencies which feed the hungry. This young adult and family activity provides opportunities for volunteers of all ages to join in a fun-filled outreach event and Make A Difference. Click here to register for Yam Jam.

Feast of Sharing
Every Holiday season HEB invites the public to a Thanksgiving meal to help fight hunger in communities across the state. The event also features entertainment, children's activities, and even health screenings! Teens are invited to join other St. Monica volunteers to help feed thousands here in Dallas.
Volunteer spaces are available for ages 12 and above to serve. If you are interested in placing food on the trays for other volunteers to pick up, willing to serve meals at tables or work with young children by face painting and games, please consider volunteering. St. Monica will provide bus service for volunteers wishing to participate for a fee of $15.00 round trip.

Discalced Carmelite Nuns
Students are invited to learn more about the Discalced Carmelite Nuns and Religious life by visiting their convent, praying with them, and cleaning their chapel.

Angel for a Day
Angel for a Day is a Christmas event hosted by teens in which they organize and lead Christmas activities for needy children. The event is held in the small gym. Click here to register for Angel for a Day.

Christmas Angels
Every advent season, St. Monica parishioners adopt families in need and provide them with Christmas gifts. As part of this endeavor, Confirmation teens are invited to help with the distribution of these Christmas packages. Click here to register for this event.

Posada Navidena
Each year St. Monica's hosts a Posada, a Hispanic tradition in which the story of Mary and Joseph is commemorated as they were looking for a place to lodge in preparation for coming of the infant, Jesus. The Posada is sung and there is time for prayer, reflection, music, fellowship and food. In preparation for this event, Confirmation teens are invited to come set help set up for the Posada, assist with the Posada, and clean up afterwards. Click here to register for this event.

White Rose Women’s Center
The White Rose Women’s Center is a crisis pregnancy center for women who are facing unplanned pregnancy. The White Rose Women’s center provides counseling, free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, baby clothing and more.
In addition to learning about the mission of the crisis center, St. Monica students will be given a tour of the center including the ultrasound room and images, sort donations, and put together bags of clothes for expectant mothers. Click here to register.

Souper Bowl of Caring
Service hours are available for teens open to collect donations or canned goods, or both, to help fight hunger and poverty in their community after each Mass. No consent forms are required for this event. Mini Olympics 2012
The Mini Olympic event is an event organized by high school and middle school teens for our Parish CCD children. The children are treated to a morning of “Mini Olympics” event full of sports, games, virtues and team spirit. High school and middle school Youth Ministry teens start planning for this event in January. Our hope is to bring joy, fun and love to the hearts of the CCD kids by showing them kindness, and teaching them to be kind to others as faithful Disciples of Christ.
