Adult ConfirmationFor "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed."
St. Monica’s offers Confirmation classes twice a year for Catholic adults who would like to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. To enroll in the class, one must be at least:
· Age 18
· Baptized in the Catholic Church and have received First Holy Communion
· If married, must be married within the Catholic Church. If civilly married, couple must receive the sacrament of marriage before receiving Confirmation.
Adults who are seeking all three sacraments of initiation (baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) or baptized adults who are seeking Eucharist and Confirmation must go through a process of conversion, RCIA.
To register for the Confirmation class, please submit an online registration form and a copy of your baptismal certificate, and sponsor covenant form. If married, please submit a copy of marriage certificate. The sponsor form, baptismal and marriage certificate, can be brought to the office, mailed, or faxed to the Office of Faith Formation: 214.357.7802. Candidates must also select a sponsor in conformity with Church guidelines.
