Broken Bow Campout this weekend-
Sign ups needed IMMEDIATELY.

THIS COULD BE YOU, OR IN A CANOE...

Float the Beautiful and Thrilling Mt. Fork River at Broken Bow, OK
Prepare to get wet, when you take a kayak or canoe down the 4 miles of rock gardens, rapids and small waterfalls that make up this year round available class II water rollercoaster! At this time of year, the fall colors should be beautiful.

Trout Fishing is available year round in Mountain Fork River (license required). The river is stocked with almost 4000 rainbows and browns every other Thursday. This tailwater is the most noted year round trout fishery in the state. (Note: The scoutmaster is woefully ignorant about trout fishing. I'm not promising anything here. Maybe the Rosen's or Savelli's can give us some pointers.)

The Best Trip Each Year
Our annual canoe/kayak trip to Broken Bow, OK is routinely mentioned as the best trip of the year . Due to the extreme popularity of this river, we were not able to go as scheduled in August. The patrol leaders voted on Monday night, and we decided to make it up this weekend, October 19-21.

A Sense of Urgency - Sign Up Now.
That's this weekend, as in 4 days. Barth has talked to our outfitter, and we need to get our reservations for canoes and kayaks in Wednesday night. Therefor, it is imperative that you register for the campout by 7pm Wednesday. I will put down a deposit for everyone that responds by 7pm Wednesday. If you register and don't go, I would expect you to still pay the full fee. If you don't register in time, I can't guarantee a ride to Oklahoma or that a canoe or kayak will be available.

Adults Needed
BSA Safety Afloat policies require that we have 2 adults for every 10 boys going on the river. I know of 3 adults going right now: Mr. Harms, Mr. Robinson, and Mr. Burns. I need one more cleared (**BSA Youth Protection and St Monica Safe Environment) adult to be able to take 11-20 scouts. Any more than 20 scouts will require 2 more adults.

Money
The cost for the trip will be $40. This fee includes boat rental, camp site and food for Saturday and Sunday. We will collect the $40 per person before leaving on Friday. (This cost depends on the number of people going. If there is a final change of $5 or more, either up or down, we will adjust as needed upon our return.)

When and Where to Meet
Meet at the Scout Hut at 5:00pm. We will leave at 5:30. You must be in class A uniform. You may not leave on the trip unless you are wearing your Scout Shirt.
