Faith Formation ClassesPK 3 - 8th grade St. Monica's Faith Formation classes for the 2010-2011 school year will be held every Sunday from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. Classes will start Sunday, September 12, 2010 and end Sunday, May 22, 2011. According to diocesan policy, children who would like to receive Baptism, First Holy Communion or Confirmation, must be enrolled in two consecutive years of Faith Formation classes before celebrating any Sacraments. For example, a student must be enrolled in the first grade before receiving First Holy Communion in the second grade. At St. Monica's, parents who have children that are preparing to receive Sacraments that school year are required to attend parent Faith Formation classes at the same hour that their children are attending class on Sunday. Faith Formation classes are also offered on Sundays for students who have already received the sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation. To register a student, parents must fill out an online registration form (available May 11) or come into the offer to fill out a registration form. Parents must also provide the Office of Faith Formation with a copy of their child's baptismal certificate. If the child has not been baptized, parents must submit a copy of the child's birth certificate. The fee for Faith Formation classes for the 2010-2011 school year is $65.00 per student.
