icon_cross.gif Cans & Gift Certificates Collection (November)

This annual collection helps provide Thanksgiving food baskets for parish families experiencing financial hardship. We have little storage for frozen food, so gift certificates are preferred to actual turkeys. Contact Office of Faith Formation 214-357-8549.

icon_cross.gif Adopt an Angel Project (November/December)

At Christmas time, families in need request help on behalf of their children. The Faith Formation Office conducts interviews to determine actual need. Then parishioners adopt each "angel" and shop for at least two NEW items of clothing and two NEW toys. For those who have little time to shop, we also accept gift certificates, SCRIP, and checks made out to St. Monica Church. Contact Office of Faith Formation 214-357-8549.

icon_cross.gif Meals on Wheels

St. Monica participates in the Visiting Nurses Association Meals on Wheels Program. Volunteers, working in two person teams, deliver lunches to homebound people. Our volunteers make deliveries Monday through Friday, starting at 9:30 AM and finishing before noon on assigned days the first week of each month. Contact Amy Pugh 214-352-3578.

icon_cross.gif Helping Hands

St. Monica's Helping Hands organizes bereavement lunches for its parishioners. By planning and preparing such meals, we hope to reduce the stress and worry on families already burdened by the loss of a loved one. Meals are prepared in the Family Center kitchen, and served in the Family Center lounge by caring volunteers.

This ministry survives and thrives through the efforts of the volunteer community. As a Helping Hands volunteer, you will be called upon to prepare or purchase an item for a bereavement lunch. You may also be called upon to help with setup and cleanup. Donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
